How much do you remember?
Jason started something interesting by challenging us to remember those 80s movies (Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, etc. etc.)

Feel free to start your own!!!

I HAVE ONE ....
Can you remember who acted in those movies? AND - they had a name for this group of teeny boppin' actresses & actors ... what was it?

Let's see there was Molly Ringwald, Anthony Michael Hall, Rob Lowe, James Spader, Demi Moore, Judd Nelson and I know there's a few more but my mind just went blank.  I guess it's the age lol!! The name of the group was the Brat Pack.

There was also Some kind of Wonderful.  Footloose was big too.  I have flashbacks when I hear music from Top Gun.  That was a big staple in the 80's.

What about Real Genius and My Science Project? They may not have been as popular, but they are still pretty good.

What was the most popular Tom Cruise movie of the 80's? Alot of will probably say Los'in It was your favorite. LOL I would have to go with Top Gun. Got any more?  Holla!

Goggle Tom Cruise movie's.  I think it was his first movie. It's your true to form 80's teen movie. A group of guys go to Mexico to "Lose It". I think you know what i'm talking about.

The Color of Money was not bad either.

The best concert about the time at HS was the Monsters of Rock in Denver... Metalica, Van Halen, Scorpions, Kindom Come and I think it was Dokkin.  All on one stage in one day.  Veryy cool!

Best concert in Albuquerque - Iron Maiden.

Best concert I've seen since is a toss up between Ozzy, Motley Crew  and ZZ Top.

Lets see...In high school, the best concert I saw was probably AC/DC...

In I think '94, I saw Eric Clapton.  By far that was the best concert I've seen.  Although Collective Soul at Popejoy with my wife  in I think '99 was really good too.

The Lilith Fair was a great concert - even though we were all packed into the lil' gated Bern. Wine Fest. area like sardines. WHAT A NIGHTMARE - but we survived (barely).
I don't go to concerts anymore. It just isn't worth it, unless you can pay to be in the front row.

Ok, so none of you want to remember when... that's cool. How about giving some of your fondest memories of El Dorado. Maybe times with friends or favorite teachers. Come on! Your not that old! Don't make me start calling you all GEEZERS!

Half of you had to be involved one way or another in the El Dorado vs. Sandia conflicts that took place at Barstow or down at the Mc Donald's on Wyoming and Montgomery?

Or being harassed by "The Man" at the Burger King on Juan Tabo and Montgomery?

Or seeing about 100 students standing on Montgomery smoking between class?
Good Times!!!!

Yep...Barstow.  I remember when Barstow seemed like it was WAY out there.  There's houses there now and practically in the middle of town!

Teachers....I'm going to go home and look at my yearbook to try to jog my geezer memory...

I do remember just about everyday getting to school early and trying to avoid Mr. Foote, as he would kick us off campus if we got there before a certain time...yep, good times.

How many beer bottles do you think they dug out of Barstow when they started building all those houses out there?
How about "gatherings/social events" at Hamiltom Dam? There's a little league baseball field there now. And lots of big $$$$ homes. Hard to believe they built a huge casino with a golf course just down the road from Barstow.
When some of you from out of town come back to the 505, you will be surprised how much it has changed.

I wonder WHAT sort of things they found at Barstow. I'm sure most is just buried treasure that people are finding when they plant their gardens. Beaver Town is history too.
Alb. has changed and grown so much. It's just not the same  place.

Hey Greg - you mentioned Foote ... does anyone remember Otis? Was he there all 4 years?

ha! yeah Otis I remember him too.  He used to give us a hard time about dipping on campus back when you could still use tobacco on campus.  I think they changed that rule when we were sophomores or juniors.   I don't think he was there all 4 years we were.  I think coach Mertzweiler took over for him...brings back memories I didn't even know I had!!

Ok, so we just saw Duran Duran and Rush two weeks ago. They were not touring together obviously but they were both on the same weekend.  They were both still great! John Taylor and Simon both looked terrific!!! Blast from the past.
